This modest and impressive looking masterpiece is named Bodhi Bodhidharma 菩提达摩.
Bodhidharma 达摩 is definitely someone our Singapore audiences are familiar with.

Standing at 26cm tall, 7.7cm wide and 6cm in depth and weighing around 415g, this beauty is crafted from Sandalwood Album.

The artistic value is emphasized by the facial expression of Bodhidharma which is very distinctive, beaming with ZEN in his tranquil and yet imposing manner.

Our master craftsman had used Clear Knife Crafting 清刀工艺 to bring life into this masterpiece, and cut wood carvings are not sanded at all, but are left on the surface of the wood as a result of the carving of the carving knife, leaving all the traces hand-crafted by the author uncovered.

Keeping this as simple as we can, enjoy and admire the works of simplicity.
